Expanding foam insulation in the best product for saving energy. It is difficult to seal all cracks and fiberglass insulation is nothing more than a filter when air flow is present.

Expanding foam insulation pays for itself in short order by eliminating air flow and insulating. Indoor air quality improves because air flow from outside to in is reduced or completely stopped. It is more than just insulation, foam really makes any home more comfortable.

Thank you for your comment.

In order to help readers and installers can you point us to reference sources on how to measure levels of fresh air and the mandates for its introduction?

"Minimizing air from entering from the outside into the house means that expanding foam insulation can improve the quality of air inside your house. With proper permeable filters and especially electrostatic filters installed with your air-handler, circulating inside air can be controlled and cleaned of allergens, particulates and pollutants within a building’s interior. By using expanding foam insulation to reduce infiltration of outside contaminates, the inside air is a higher quality. This may be an even more important consideration if a resident suffers from allergies or respiratory conditions".

Although you make a vague reference to outside air in the following paragraph you people clearly don't understand what happens to a building when foam insulation is used. Every home I have been in with foam insulation is seriously and dangerously devoid of fresh air and in a strong state of negative pressure. If anyone thinks this is a good thing they need to have their head examined. There are several products desiged to introduce fresh air to the building and they are mandatory with foam insulation.
